Primary Eyecare Acute Referral Service
If you or your child are experiencing sudden eye problems, including pain, loss of vision and blurred sight, there is a service to help you.
High street optometrists (opticians) in Strood, Hoo, central Gillingham, Rainham, Hempstead Valley and Walderslade now offer a Primary Eyecare Acute Referral Service, examining and in most cases treating conditions that previously had to be seen at Maidstone Hospital.
Conditions include problems with lids, lashes, red eye, dry eye, headaches, loss of vision, blurred vision and corneal trauma.
It is not a walk-in service - you will have to phone the optometrist of your choice to make an appointment. They will try to see you as quickly as they can.
