Changes to Medway Imaging Department

The Imaging Department at Medway Hospital have announced several changes to their service.

• All referrals for patients needing an Ultrasound Scan, need to be vetted by the Radiologists, and therefore need to be sent into the Department, by post or fax. It is not possible for patients to arrange these appointments over the telephone, unless they wish to make a change to a pre existing booking.

• The Xray Department now offers a ‘walk-in’ service from 8.15am to 4pm weekdays. An appointment system is still in place for weekends. Patients need to contact the department to make arrangements for this. This is with the exception of dental xrays, these are by appointment only.

• We do not accept GP referrals for suspected DVT patients. These need to be referred to the Same Day Treatment Centre, where their scan will be arranged.

• All request cards need to be completed in full, with the patient’s name, address date of birth, NHS number, referrer, and all clinic details.
